Open-source BIM platform for engineering and architecture
COSPEL is a free, open-source BIM platform that connects models, planning, technical control, costs, and project data in a single ecosystem for engineering and architecture workflows.
Through Revit and Navisworks plugins, the platform synchronizes BIM elements with centralized databases, enabling budgeting, scheduling, technical validation, and project control directly from the model.
The system supports enterprise, on-premise, and white-label deployments, allowing organizations to customize workflows, branding, and integrations while maintaining full control over data and infrastructure.
Centralized databases for data-driven budgeting.
BIM – Data – Planning integration
The platform operates as an integrated technology ecosystem, where BIM models, databases, and planning systems communicate bidirectionally through APIs, specialized services, and native plugins.
At the modeling level, Revit and Navisworks plugins capture information directly from BIM elements. Each object can contain technical, construction, and cost parameters that are automatically read, validated, and structured.
This data is synchronized with centralized databases, where it is linked to unit cost analysis, technical specifications, scheduling, and project control. The information can then return to the model as automation, technical validations, or decision-support signals.
As a whole, the platform functions as a BIM–data–planning integration engine: information flows from the model to the database and back to the project as control, technical consistency, and traceability.
The platform is fully BIM-compatible and designed to integrate directly into engineering and architecture workflows, connecting models, data, and automation within a single ecosystem.
From BIM models to budgets with Revit and Navisworks
Use the apps inside Revit and Navisworks
Connect your models directly to centralized databases for budgeting, technical data, and project control. The plugins keep quantities, costs, and planning data consistent across the entire project lifecycle.
Revit Plugin
Connects the model with technical data and unit cost structures. Allows reading and writing parameters directly on elements, automating workflows and synchronizing the project with the central database for reliable budgeting and control.
Navisworks Plugin
Links models with planning and project tracking. Uses data from Revit and centralized databases to support 4D simulations, activity monitoring, and cost-driven project control.
Both plugins are free, database-driven, and part of an open-source platform designed for enterprise and on-premise deployments.

Deployment
On-Premise & Cloud-Native
An open, enterprise-ready platform for on-premise and cloud-native BIM workflows
On-Premise and Cloud-Native Architecture PHP & MySQL
The platform is designed as a hybrid solution, supporting both on-premise and cloud-native deployments. It is built on a PHP and MySQL technology stack, ensuring stability, portability, and compatibility with a wide range of enterprise environments.
Organizations can deploy the system on their own infrastructure, private clouds, or virtualized environments, maintaining full control over data, security policies, and operational governance, while also enabling scalable cloud-based implementations when required.
Enterprise User Management Framework CodeIgniter 4 Compatible
The platform includes a robust user management framework, fully compatible with CodeIgniter-based applications. This framework provides structured control over users, roles, permissions, and access levels across the system.
It is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing CodeIgniter projects, allowing organizations to reuse authentication logic, authorization models, and session handling mechanisms without duplicating infrastructure or introducing vendor lock-in.
Governance System for Frameworks, Users, and APIs
At its core, the platform incorporates a governance system that regulates how frameworks, users, and APIs interact within the ecosystem. This governance layer defines rules for access, data ownership, integration boundaries, and operational responsibilities.
The system enables centralized control over API usage, framework extensions, and user interactions, ensuring consistency, traceability, and compliance across all deployed components.
API-Driven Integration and Interoperability
The platform exposes a set of well-documented APIs that enable bidirectional communication between BIM plugins, databases, external systems, and corporate applications.
API governance includes defined endpoints, authentication mechanisms, data schemas, and integration workflows, allowing technical teams to automate internal processes, connect external services, and extend platform functionality in a controlled and secure manner.
Standardized JSON Data Exchange for Systems and BIM Environments
COSPEL defines and uses standardized JSON-based data formats as a core mechanism for information exchange between internal systems, external platforms, and BIM environments.
These JSON structures establish a consistent and auditable representation of technical data, including project metadata, model parameters, quantities, classifications, and governance-related information.
Through this approach, data can flow seamlessly from enterprise systems to BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks, and обратно from BIM models back into databases and planning systems, preserving data integrity, traceability, and semantic consistency.
Enterprise-Ready Deployment Model
Together, these components form an enterprise-ready technical foundation, combining:
On-premise and cloud-native flexibility
A PHP/MySQL core compatible with CodeIgniter
Structured user and access management
Governance over frameworks and APIs
Standardized JSON formats for system and BIM interoperability
Open standards and extensible architecture
This approach enables organizations to adopt, customize, and evolve the platform confidently within complex corporate environments, while preserving long-term maintainability and technological independence.
